Emmerdale confirms another ‘dead’ character is alive in ITVX release
The following article contains spoilers from an episode of Emmerdale that hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX.
Last year in Emmerdale, Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) and Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths) forced April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) into sex work.
The youngster felt she had no choice but to accept the jobs from the duo, as she was under the impression she had a mountain of debt to clear for them.
During one meeting, April spoke to an older man called Callum, who made it clear that he was sexually attracted to her.
Before Callum attacked April, she hit him over the head with a bottle in self defence. He collapsed on his bed and seconds later, blood started pooling around him.
April ran to Celia and Ray and told them what had happened. Ray went to investigate the situation at Callum’s house, and discovered that he was actually alive.
The mother and son failed to tell April this though. The fact they covered up her apparent killing was another way for Celia and Ray to keep April trapped in their dangerous world.
When Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) learnt about April dealing drugs, his immediate reaction was to head to the police station. April then confessed that they couldn’t tell the police about what’s been going on, because she killed a man.
Amid Marlon and Rhona Goskirk’s (Zoe Henry) efforts to save April from Celia, they have all collectively been worried about April murdering Callum, and what it could mean for her.
In what feels like a never ending nightmare, the family received a tiny bit of good news in today’s episode, and it served as a sign that things might be getting easier for them at last.
DS Walsh visited April after doing more investigating into Celia’s operation. She confirmed that Callum is actually alive, and she knows this because she spoke to him about half an hour ago.

To say April was relieved was a bit of an understatement. DS Walsh then revealed that Callum has now been arrested, giving April even more hope.
While DS Walsh is making progress in the drug dealing side of this ordeal, she currently isn’t having a lot of luck with finding any of the slaves from the farm.

Walsh revealed to Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) earlier in the day that the attic that housed the slaves was completely empty when they visited, which suggests the victims – including his dad Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) – have all ran away.
So while April and her family have moved forward the tiniest amount, Paddy remains stuck.
