Bold & Beautiful’s Insane Plan to Keep Letting Luna Drive Everyone Crazy

In the two years since she made her daytime debut, Bold & Beautiful has turned Lisa Yamada’s Luna from a sugary-sweet ingenue into a cold-blooded killer. And while real-life logic would suggest that, now that everyone is discovering that she is alive — and running around getting Will drunk enough to rape him — she will be sent up the river. But it ain’t necessarily so.

Mad About You
It’s clear that Bold & Beautiful is heavily invested in Yamada — and she is compelling to watch. But how can the show possibly keep Luna around after she racked up a rap sheet that includes everything from illegally obtaining a firearm to using it willy nilly on anyone who gets in her way? (And those are among her tamer offenses.) As it happens, the powers that be could have a number of tricks up their sleeve to extend the she-devil’s stay in the City of Angels. Such as?

Baby’s First Prison Jumper
Luna herself has made it clear that she plans to use her rape baby as a Get Out of Jail Free card. She can’t imagine Bill and Katie wanting their grandchild to be born behind bars. She might be right about that, too. Common sense would dictate that the Spencers would simply sue for custody the killer’s tyke. It would be an open-and-shut case. But this is Bold & Beautiful that we’re talking about — it plays by a set of rules that only apply in its own alternate reality.

Mental Hopscotch
Luna could also turn out to have dissociative-identity disorder — in other words, multiple personalities. If her childhood was really as terrible as she retconned it to be, some trauma back then could have caused her psyche to splinter, leaving the real Luna unaware of the horrific acts that were being perpetrated right, left and center by her avaricious alter ego. After some intensive therapy — thanks, Taylor — Luna could pose no more threat to the Forresters than last year’s fashions.

Father Tim
If Bold & Beautiful sends Luna to prison, she could finally get what she’s always wanted: a relationship with her father. Steffy could sign off on Finn visiting his daughter since, obviously, she’s locked up and no longer a clear or present danger. What harm could it do? Steffy might think. But as Finn spends more and more time with Luna, she changes before his eyes — into someone whose release he’d champion. Has he been fooled? We wouldn’t find out until later — perhaps too late!

An Organ-ic Remedy

The Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers: Is Luna Jack's Daughter? - Finn's ...
Suppose Will’s girlfriend Electra suddenly needed a kidney, and the only potential donor was — but of course — Luna. Bold & Beautiful could pull a Felony Flo on us by making everyone turn a blind eye to her crimes because she did a good deed and forked over the organ. Hey, it’s no sillier than Deacon being able to get Sheila sprung from prison because the judge owed him. (Remember that doozy of a plot twist?)

A Truly Nutty Idea
Sheila will be the one person left who may not be able to turn her back on Luna. And since Grandma is said to be loaded — she told us herself she was rolling in dough — she could fund an epic legal defense, paying Jack big bucks to claim that his granddaughter is innocent of any wrongdoing by virtue of insanity. To keep Luna on the show, Jack will have to be successful in this endeavor — and send his client straight into therapy with Taylor, where she’ll bump into…

Mr. Right
Imagine if, while coming and going from her sessions with Taylor, Luna ran into the shrink’s son Thomas now and again. The two of them could get to talking and come to realize that they are kindred spirits, lost souls who feel more intensely than most people and act on impulses that… Well, they’d be working on cutting down on their number of rash actions. Against all odds, they’d open their hearts to one another and find the real love that has long eluded them.
