“It’s been a massive box set for Iain, going on all the different shifts, I’m sure everyone’s enjoyed all the different uniforms that he had to wear,” Stevenson said on Wednesday.

“But the next episode is huge, when he’s out with the SWAT team. But it’s a culmination of the storylines to do with the morphine, the morphine being stolen and being watered down. It’s the culmination of what I’m hearing has been one of the fans’ favourite boxsets.”

Asked about the issues in Iain and Faith’s relationship, he added, “Obviously, they’re married now, so it’s a lot harder to just walk away from a marriage. They’ve committed to each other, and not long after doing that, this huge thing has happened that they’ve got to work their way through. We’ll see what happens.”

As for future episodes, Stevenson revealed what the couple’s relationship could look like in episodes airing after Christmas.
